“We are ensnared in a war of annihilation, an onslaught upon us all. To face it divided is to embrace our own disgraceful doom. We either rise and fight as one or be killed one by one.”
On October 7th, the Palestinian resistance sent a resounding message to the world: The regional and global stability remains an unattainable mirage unless the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to freedom, return, and self-determination—are finally, and unreservedly, recognized.
In a stark, unequivocal declaration, Western governments, spearheaded by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, have positioned themselves as opponents not only to the legitimate Palestinian resistance but also of the Arab world and every free voice against hegemony and colonialism, aiding and abetting in the genocidal atrocities in the Gaza Strip. Disgraced and driven from several African countries, they now eye Gaza as a ground to reinstate their domination in our region.
These powers have extended their message not just through the might of their naval fleets and overflights in our waters and skies but through their every platform, which grips through foreign and international organizations, whispering an unspoken edict: Everyone who works for us, depends on our funds, and lives within our bounds owes a coerced allegiance. A specter of political retribution looms, and even the slightest forms of expression will not escape the inquisition. As Gaza’s skies are marred by the brutal arcs of incendiaries, the colonizers’ pretense of the universality of human rights disappears into the thick air of the rubble and the ruins.
Therefore, we—the assemblage of civil society organizations in Palestine and throughout the Arab world—assert that:
Foreign and international institutions and organizations operating on any of our Arab soils are to make express statements condemning the ongoing onslaught and genocidal actus rei against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. These calls to action must insist that aggressors be held accountable, the blockade be lifted, and the collective punishment be ended—once and for all. Asserting the inalienable and inherent rights of the Palestinian people to resistance, freedom, and self-determination as enshrined in international law, they must withdraw from any positions that support Zionist colonialism and its premeditated and systematic crimes, that equate the colonizer and the colonized, or that adhere to deceptive silence and neutrality—for there is no middle ground at this historic juncture for our region.
Arab nationals working with foreign and international organizations should exercise their influence on their employers to embrace the principled stance above. They should raise their voices in protests and demonstrations across the Arab world, hand in hand with freedom and liberation advocates around the globe, to help realize these demands. They should intensify sit-ins at the doorsteps of foreign representatives in all Arab countries to compel governments to end their complicity in the genocide in Gaza.
The sine qua nons to stop the assault, bring Zionist colonizers and their accomplices to justice for their genocidal offenses, lift the siege, and open the Rafah border to allow critical humanitarian aid and vital supplies—water, food, medicine, fuel, and medical teams to support Gaza’s stand against the onslaught—all must remain as a resolute and unwavering ethos at the heart of all our mobilizations, protests, and appeals throughout the Arab world and to the free people of the world.
We announce the formation of an ad hoc Arab monitor to observe, document, and follow up:
Violations against the employees in foreign and international organizations, including all forms of infringement on freedoms of expression and opinion by preventing and denouncing any voices of solidarity with the Palestinian cause or condemnation of the continuous aggression against the Palestinian people.
Violations against nongovernmental organizations by foreign and international organizations and agencies. Some of these foreign bodies have already introduced coercive contractual conditions, including the condemnation of certain Palestinian parties and blocs—a move that egregiously infringes upon the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination.
Statements and practices of foreign and international institutions and bodies, including the United Nations and its agencies. It is critical to call out any complicit positions that acquiesce to or cement the Zionist ethnic cleansing enterprise in Gaza through acts of genocide and displacement.
Last but not least, we do urge any personnel at a foreign and international institution who has experienced or witnessed support for Zionist colonization and its atrocities to reach out to the following address [email protected]
. We commit to documenting these violations and exposing those standing behind them through effective and deterrent acts of pressure and advocacy, ensuring the utmost confidentiality of complainants and professional pursuit of these cases to avoid any risk of reprisal.
